The Dream that Lingers

Waking to loss,
a sorrowing that runs a thread through the day.

The dream
lingers,
like foggy mist clinging
to the trees. 

Even as the sun struggles through the grayness.

Dreaming of the beloved, and
of a life that is not,
may not ever,
Be.

Let go.
